Rosemarcos (from English rose + Old Triparik marcos "marches, borders") is one of Septempontia's traditional lands, and ruled by the Warden of the Rose Marches. The first and current Marchwarden is HRH the Princess Carrie, Duchess of Fox Chapel.
Name
Rosemarcos contains the counties of Lancaster and York, whose namesake families famously used roses as their symbols. Placed on the southern border of the Empire, it is a "march" or, in Old Triparik, marco. Its name thus translates as "rose-borderland".
Arms
Per pale sable and argent, within a bordure embattled a rose, counterchanged.
The arms of Rosemarcos combine the Red Rose of Lancaster and the White Rose of York, within an embattled border intended to suggest its position on the edge of the Empire.
