Seven Tunnels

The term Seven Tunnels refers to the tunnels that were part of the route of the Pennsylvania Turnpike when it first opened to the public on 1 October 1940. Three of them are no longer part of the Turnpike's route, and are known as the Lost Tunnels.
From west to east, they are:
- Laurel Hill Tunnel (lost)
- Allegheny Mountain Tunnel
- Ray's Hill Tunnel (lost)
- Sideling Hill Tunnel (lost)
- Tuscarora Mountain Tunnel
- Kittatinny Mountain Tunnel
- Blue Mountain Tunnel
