The Babel Text

English Triparic, 2016
Now the whole world had one language and a common speech. Dann der häl mond hadet æn tang i æn [common] dix.
As men moved eastward, they found a plain in Shinar and settled there. Vann perses wäget ostlic, eng findedant æn [plain] en Schinar i [settled] dir.
They said to each other, "Come, let's make bricks and bake them thoroughly." They used brick instead of stone, and tar for mortar. Eng sagdant zu ænander, "Vene, färam [bricks] i [bake] eng [thoroughly]." Eng uzdant [brick] ånplax [stone], i [tar] als [mortar].
Then they said, "Come, let us build ourselves a city, with a tower that reaches to the heavens, so that we may make a name for ourselves and not be scattered over the face of the whole earth." Dann eng sagdant, "Vene, [let us build] fir selb æn stad, wik æn torn qe [reaches] zu der çel, zo nø posse fären æn nom fir selb i nac sam [scattered] ober der [face] o der häl [earth]."
But the LORD came down to see the city and the tower that the men were building. Mäz der [Lord] vendet basch, [in order to?] viden der stad i der torn, velk der perses [were building].
The LORD said, "If as one people speaking the same language they have begun to do this, then nothing they plan to do will be impossible for them. Der [Lord] sagdet, "Si als æn volk dixet der mem tang, eng començtant fären istid, dann nivid velk eng planant fären sert [impossible] fir eng.
Come, let us go down and confuse their language so they will not understand each other." Vene, vadam basch i [confuse] engs tang, zo eng nac [understand] ænander."
So the LORD scattered them from there over all the earth, and they stopped building the city. Zo der [Lord] [scattered] eng von dir ober alle der [earth], i eng [stopped] [building] der stad.
That is why it was called Babel -- because there the LORD confused the language of the whole world. From there the LORD scattered them over the face of the whole earth. Ilum id wart benomet Babel -- parsqe dir der [Lord] [confused] der tang o der häl mond. Von dir der [Lord] [scattered] eng ober der [face] o der häl [earth].
