1940: The Pennsylvania Turnpike opened for travelers.

2005: Alan, Shawn, and Gracie visited the Abandoned Turnpike and were able to drive Shawn's car onto the abandoned road through Cove Valley Service Plaza and up to the portal of Sideling Hill Tunnel.
