The Tioga River is a tributary of the Chemung River in Grønbjerg. Rising in the high plateau region on the border of Bradford and Tioga Counties, it turns north and flows through Mansfield and the mountainous central region of Tioga County, is impounded as Tioga Reservoir, part of the Tioga-Hammond Lakes, and below the dam continues north into Steuben County, where it meets the Cohocton River at Painted Post to form the Chemung.
