Nouns

Gender

Nouns have no grammatical gender.

Plural

Nouns form their plurals in -s (-es if the singular ends in s, z, x, or sch):

mensches "men" mädins "young women"

Articles and Genitive

The definite articles are der (singular) and des (plural).

The genitive is formed with the preposition o "of":

der cän o der mensch "the dog of the man", "the man's dog"
